Osmo Polyx Oil Raw 3044 Matt:
Preparation: The wooden surface must be clean and dry before applying Osmo Polyx Oil Raw. On timber floors remove any previous varnish by sanding with P120-P150 grit, or on internal joinery or furniture sand with P180-P240 grit abrasive; fill any small imperfections with a good quality filler. Larger cracks can be filled by mixing the sawdust with a Joint Gel filler, before vacuuming to remove all dust.
Application: Test in an inconspicuous area to confirm suitability and the final colour. Apply the first coat of Osmo Polyx Raw hard wax oil thinly and evenly in the direction of the grain with a good quality brush, such as Mako 5* Pro Woodcare Brush, or for larger areas Osmo 220mm Floor Brush or Microfibre Roller.
The second/ final coat could either be clear Osmo Polyx Oil Original applied as per the first or for a more intense colour a second coat of Polyx Oil Raw (total number of two coats to be applied).
Cleaning: Osmo Wash and Care should be used for general cleaning of Polyx treated floors. It is a water soluble concentrate designed specifically for cleaning oiled and waxed floors, without drying out the wood or removing the finish.
If a higher sheen level is required or the floor needs refreshing or reviving after hard use, Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner is also available.
Finish available: Natural Matt
Oamo Polyx Oil Raw's pigment works particularly well with Oak and other light coloured timbers such Ash or Spruce, drying without leaving the 'wet-look' appearance of the original Polyx Oil and other oil finishes.
