Rustins Danish Oil
Preparation: Timber must be clean, smooth, dry and clear of any previous treatments. Prior wax treatment can be removed by scrubbing with white spirit.
Application: Apply Rustins Danish Oil generously with a clean lint free cloth or a Mako Woodcare Brush, making sure to remove surplus oil after a few minutes. On all exterior wood, Rustins Danish Oil should be applied liberally with a brush and allowed to dry without wiping excess. Bare wood will require three coats and exterior wood may need extra coats. Drying time is approximately 4 - 6 hours and re-coat once dry. Apply Rustins Danish Oil in temperatures of 15-25°C.
Maintenance: Intermittent re-oiling for interior wood may be required. Just clean surface with White Spirit and apply.
For exterior wood, re-oiling should take place at least once a year. Very exposed and upright surfaces may need more frequent re-oiling. For oak and softwoods, as this timber is prone to weather staining caused by mould spores present in the wood, extra coats will need to be applied to efficiently seal the wood.
