Rustins Worktop Oil - Quick Drying and Food Safe
Rustins Worktop Oil - 1 litre
Rustins Worktop Oil
For a quick drying wooden work surface treatment, use Rustin's Worktop Oil! An innovative water-borne blend of natural plant oils and other individual ingredients, which will nourish and protect all types of timber. Rustin's Worktop Oil leaves a durable and water resistant seal which is not at risk of scratching or chipping.
Rustin's Worktop Oil is solvent free and conforms to the UK Articles in Contact with Food Regulations and is suitable for the kitchen or in any other food-related environment.
Rustins Worktop Oil adds warmth and depth to all woods, including oak, beech, teak, mahogany and veneered surfaces.
Preparation:
The wood must be clean, smooth, dry and free from wax, dust and contaminants. Clean by scrubbing with White Spirit or Rustin's Surface Cleaner and a scouring pad, then wipe away whilst still wet with clean rags. Existing paint and varnishes should be removed with Paint and Varnish Stripper. Bare wood may be dyed by coating with Rustin's Wood Dye.
Application:
Apply Rustins Worktop Oil liberally with a clean cloth or a
Mako Woodcare Brush
and wipe off the surplus oil after a few minutes. The first coat should be applied liberally with a brush and allowed to dry without wiping. Blemishes may be removed from the final coat by applying the oil with a scouring pad, rubbing in the direction of the grain, then wiping away the surplus with clean rags or paper kitchen towels.
Coats: Bare wood requires 3 coats.
Drying Time: 2-3 hours depending on temperature and humidity.
Re-coating: Re-coat once the previous coat is dry.
Application Temp.: Ideally 15-25°C, do not apply below 10°C
Coverage: Approx. 13sq.mtr per Litre/ 1 coat, depending on the absorbency of the wood.
Shelf-life/Storage: Many years if stored in original, tightly closed container in normal cool, dry conditions.
Clean brushes with water and detergent whilst still wet. Hardened brushes can be cleaned with
Rustins Brush Restorer.
