Rustins Danish Oil - Unique and Original Danish Oil
Rustins Danish Oil
Rustins unique formulation of Danish Oil is the only one of its kind and is suitable for hard and soft wood.
With an easy to use wipe on finish, Rustins Danish Oil brings out the beauty of the timber and gives a natural, open-grained, low-lustre finish.
Rustins Danish Oil is a special blend based on Tung Oil which is processed and mixed with other vegetable oils and resins to increase the hardness.
Any wooden surface will benefit from just one or two coats of Rustins Danish Oil!
Usages:
Ideal for all interior and exterior bare wood, doors, joinery, garden and indoor furniture. Rustins Danish Oil is perfect for woodturnings and woodcarvings.
Preparation:
Timber must be clean, smooth, dry and clear of any previous treatments. Prior wax treatment can be removed by scrubbing with white spirit.
Application:
Apply Rustins Danish Oil generously with a clean cloth or a
Mako Woodcare Brush
, making sure to remove surplus oil after a few minutes. On all exterior wood, Rustins Danish Oil should be applied liberally with a brush and allowed to dry without wiping excess. Bare wood will require three coats and exterior wood may need extra coats. Drying time is approximately 4 - 6 hours and re-coat once dry. Apply Rustins Danish Oil in temperatures of 15-25°C.
Maintenance:
Intermittent re-oiling for interior wood may be required. Just clean surface with White Spirit and apply.
For exterior wood, re-oiling should take place at least once a year. Very exposed and upright surfaces may need more frequent re-oiling. For oak and softwoods, as this timber is prone to weather staining caused by mould spores present in the wood, extra coats will need to be applied to efficiently seal the wood.
