Mylands Hardwax Flooring Oil - from Only £10.80/litre!
Mylands Hardwax Flooring Oil
Mylands Hardwax Flooring Oil
is based on a natural blend of oils and waxes, leaving a hardwearing, natural, lightly waxed satin look and feel.
Mylands Hardwax Flooring Oil is resistant to water and household drinks, and is suitable for all solid wood floorings including block and wooden plank applications. Hardwax Flooring Oils bring out the natural beauty and colour of the timber. An indication as to the final colour can be achieved by putting a few drops of water on the timber.
The above images show the natural satin finish after applying two coats of Mylands Hardwax Oil onto a piece of light oak.
Floor Preparation:
* New Timber
New timber should be sanded to ensure the surface is flat and free from contamination. Make sure the timber is at the correct moisture content and the flooring is left in the room to adjust to the temperature.
Fill any cracks or holes with a mixture of sanding dust and a floor filler such as
Jenkins Joint Filler Gel
. Lightly sand the floor with P80-P120 grit abrasive, P80 grit on Oak to keep the natural grain of the timber open. Vacuum the floor between each sanding operation and ensure the floor is thoroughly clean before the first coat of Mylands Hardwax Oil is applied.
* Previously Lacquered or Varnished Floors
To use Mylands Hardwax Flooring Oil on previously coated floors, mechanically sand the floor through the grades to P80 grit, before applying the Hardwax Flooring Oil. Ensure the surface is clean and dry and remove all sanding dust.
* Previously Oiled Floors
Lightly sand the surface using P180- P240 abrasive and reapply Mylands Hardwax Oil. If in doubt sand the surface back to the bare timber and treat as a new floor.
Application:
Ensure all areas to be coated are well ventilated before and after use. Always test on a small area prior to application. Apply two coats thinly with a quality brush such as the
Mako Woodcare Brush
or for larger floor areas use the
Mako Professional Floor Oil Brush
, removing any excess with a rag within a few minutes.
Drying Time:
6 hours between coats. Drying times will be extended under conditions of low temperature or high humidity.
Coverage:
20 m² per litre/coat dependent upon surface and application.
Cleaning Equipment:
White spirit
Maintenance:
Vacuum and wipe with a damp cloth or mop, do not over-wet the floor. If the floor becomes damaged at any time or starts to show signs of wear, lightly sand the effected area and reapply a further coat for Mylands Hardwax Flooring Oil.

Clear Satin
