Liberon Raw Linseed Oil
Liberon Raw Linseed Oil
Liberon Raw Linseed Oil is a must for protecting and nourishing your wood! Use on close or hard grained wood, ideal for oiling your favourite cricket bat and EN71 Approved for use on children's toys. Used by French Polishers as a time-honoured lubricant! Liberon Raw Linseed Oil is ideal for adding to other oils to mix a unique blend.
Product use:
Liberon Raw Linseed Oil is an original oil polish dating back for many centuries. It is hard wearing and has a rich, gloss like finish.
Preparation:
Surface to be treated must be clean and dry and free from any previous finishes, before Liberon Raw Linseed Oil is applied.
Application:
For easy application of the first few coats of Liberon Raw Linseed Oil, dilute up to 30% with
Liberon Pure Turpentine.
Alternatively, you can warm the oil in a container, standing in a bowl of hot water. When heating Raw Linseed Oil, do not dilute with Turpentine.
Use a
Liberon Lint-free Cotton Cloth
and rub well into the wood. After approximately 20-30 minutes wipe off any excess with a clean lint-free cloth. Failure to remove any excess will leave a sticky surface and prevent saturation of further coats. With a few days apart, repeat the process as above, When the final application of Liberon Raw Linseed Oil is applied, wipe of any excess and allow to harden for at least two/three days before use.
You may use
Liberon Ultra Fine Steel Wool (0000)
lightly between coats to improve the final finished look. If a surface is damaged, work in a new coat.
Please note: As oil finishes bring out the natural colours of the wood and a wet surface is an indication of the final colour, always test Liberon Raw Linseed Oil on a discreet area to establish the finished result.
Maintenance:
In the first instance, wipe treated surface with a damp cloth and buff dry. Depending upon usage, re-oil when required.
