Linseed Oil: Liberon Boiled Linseed Oil
Liberon Boiled Linseed Oil
For a mellow, gloss finish to new or stripped bare wood, use Liberon Boiled Linseed Oil!
Boiled Linseed Oil is very similar to Liberon Raw Linseed Oil, but has had hot air passed through it to increase drying times. Boiled Linseed Oil is traditionally used to seal terracotta and stone floors, giving a hard wearing finish.
Product Use:
Liberon Boiled Linseed Oil is recommended for use on all types of wood, creating a mature, gloss finish.
Do not use Boiled Linseed Oil on exterior Oak
- use
Liberon Pure Tung Oil.
Liberon Boiled Linseed Oil can also be used to seal terracotta tiles and other porous surfaces before applying wax.
Preparation:
Remove any previous finish from the surface to be treated and ensure it is clean and dry.
Application:
When applying the first few coats of Liberon Boiled Linseed Oil, dilute with up to 30%
Liberon Pure Turpentine.
Using a
Liberon Lint-free Cotton Cloth
, rub well into the wood and after approximately 20 minutes, wipe off any excess with a clean lint-free cloth. Failure to do this exercise will leave a sticky residue, preventing penetration of future coats.
Repeat the previous steps at least twice, leaving 24 hours in between. Apply a final coat of Liberon Boiled Linseed Oil, wiping off any excess after approximately 20 minutes.
For a professional finish, lightly rub the surface between applications with Liberon Ultra Fine Steel Wool (0000).
Please note:
As oil finishes bring out the natural colours of the wood and a wet surface is an indication of the final colour, always test Liberon Boiled Linseed Oil on a discreet area to
establish the finished result.
Maintenance:
In the first instance, wipe treated surface with a damp cloth and buff dry. Depending upon usage, re-oil when required.
Liberon Boiled Linseed Oil is stocked in: 500ml and 1 litre containers.
