Fiddes Naptha Stain
For exceptional penetration and strong colour on all interior wood surfaces, use Fiddes Naphtha Stain. A slow drying stain which gives a degree of flexibility when colour matching or application on to a large surface area. Fiddes Naphtha Stains are a favourite with Antique Restorers and Cabinet Makers alike, not only in this country, but world-wide!
The large range of colours within the Fiddes Naphtha Stain range enables you to create your own individual decorative style.
Preparation
Sand the wooden surface in stages with a medium sandpaper (120 grit), working through to a medium/fine grade (180-220 grit). Always sand in the direction of the grain and ensure the removal of any blemishes and glue residual. All sanding dust must be removed and always test Fiddes Naphtha Stains on a discreet area to establish finished result.
Stir contents well and check shade before application.
Application
Use a clean, lint free, cotton cloth or sponge and apply Fiddes Naphtha Stains in the direction of the wood grain. Remove any excess stain immediately with a separate clean absorbent cloth in the direction of the grain pattern. Exert a degree of pressure when applying Fiddes Naphtha Stains by hand, blending the stain over the whole area to be covered. Leave to dry and do not sand between applications.
o Apply with a cloth, brush or sponge
o Drying time 6-8 hours at room temperature
o Coverage 16 sq.m. per litre
o 1 coat only, as further coats will deepen colour
o Thin with white spirit
o For use on Fine Furniture, Doors, Floors, Cabinet work and Panelling
o Available in 1litre and 5 litre containers
